Congressman in town to help local hovercraft company expand

A congressman from Indiana is hoping to help a local company expand and bring jobs to the Wabash Valley.

Congressman Larry Bucshon went for a spin on a Neoteric Hovercraft on the Wabash River Friday afternoon.

Neoteric wants the congressman to help them expand their training facility in Terre Haute. The company has been building hovercrafts in the Valley for 35 years, but now the president says they'd like to enter into an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. military to help train even more hovercraft users right in our backyard

"We're already training firefighters from all over the world. Firefighters and police officers -- that's already been going for many years, so we're just trying to get the government more involved," says Chris Fitzgerald, Neoteric Hovercraft President.

"We have a sagging economy, high unemployment rate--although it's getting better. Any company that wants to expand in Terre Haute or in the 8th District and create some jobs is a good thing," says Republican Congressman Larry Bucshon.

Bucshon toured Neoteric's Tippecanoe Street facility after his hovercraft ride. He says he'll work with his government contacts to advocate for a partnership with Neoteric Hovercraft.
