Matteo Passoni, Carlo Guido Passoni, and their
start-up company Hi Tech International S.r.l. (HTI) of Italy, have counterfeited the
patented Neoteric HovertrekT recreational, rescue and commercial hovercraft by
stealing Neoteric’s patented designs and illegally splash molding the
Hovertrek™ to produce inexpensive tooling. HTI is aggressively marketing
these unreliable forgeries under names such as Hoverescue Model 425 and Hoverescue
Model 525.
There is widespread concern in the hovercraft industry that HTI is threatening consumer
safety by selling hovercraft with no track record, while plagiarizing Neoteric’s logo
and web site text to fraudulently claim Neoteric’s 40-year history in hovercraft
design and technology. HTI’s rescue hovercraft forgeries have serious problems such
as exploding fans, and pose a danger to first responders and to those they are tasked to
save.
