Description: Graphic Artist/Web Designer

Graphic Designer needed to prepare web-based and hard-copy visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts.
Graphic Designer Duties:

• Prepare work by gathering information and materials
• Develop design concept by studying information and materials
• Illustrate concept by designing rough layout art and copy size, type size, style, and related aesthetic concepts
• Prepare final approved layout by pasting finished copy and art
• Develop electronic copies of design concept for review and implementation
• Estimate the time required to complete projects
• Contribute design artwork and ideas and help prepare design brief
• Proofread copy and script
• Possess illustrative skills through sketching
• Apply industry-specific requirements in developing design concepts
• Complete projects by coordinating with outside agencies, contractors, art services, printers, etc.
• Remain knowledgeable and current in web standards and best practices and with advanced web aesthetics
• Assist marketing team with branding, brainstorming and advertising strategies
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Education and Qualifications:

• Minimum B.S. degree, or comparable work experience, in graphic design, communications or related field(s)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience in applying design concepts to Content Management Systems (CMS)
• Proficient in web standards, including cascading stylesheets (CSS), HTML and XHTML
• Web site design knowledge, Layout Skills, Creative Services, Customer Focus, Creativity, Flexibility, Attention to Detail, Deadline-Oriented, Acute Vision, Handles Rejection
• Writing, editing, and typing skills are an advantage
• Able to work independently and in a small team environment
• Must have good color sense and color selection talent for scheme definition and application
